Changing Times

‘MAY YOU LIVE IN INTERESTING TIMES’
Ancient Chinese Curse

ONLY IF WE LOOSE OUR SOULS WILL WE GO EXTINCT

An Invitation:
To explore- discover-uncover and recover ways of responding to the needs of the time.
Towards building trust and supporting actions and initiatives within our local and wider communities.
To draw inspiration from each other and from the words, work, teachings and lives of people such as:

Llewellyn & Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee Spiritual Ecology, Global Oneness Project, Youth Fellowship Program  & Emergence Online Magazine.

Indiginous Wisdom Kogi, Larrry Merculieff, Tiokasin Ghosthorse and many others.

Joanna MacyThe Great Turning.

Paul Kingsnorth – Dark Mountain Project and recovering enviromentalists everywhere.

Greta Thunberg and all the young people world wide who are standing up and speaking out.

Jem Bendell – Deep Adaptation, Extinction Rebellion and all those on the front line.

Taking Jem’s words to heart:

WHAT DO WE WANT TO STAND FOR EVEN IF WE ARE GOING TO SINK?

Resilience. What is it that we most value that we want to keep? What is most important in our lives and in the life of the whole?
Relinquishment.  What is it that we must let go of immediately? What are we prepared to give up now individually and globally?
Restoration.  What have we lost in this crazy, fast paced, fossil fuelled culture? What ways of being and relating? What life skills do we need to nurture and bring back to help?
Reconciliation.  What will enable us to move away from the  Survivalist stance of ‘us and them’ and stop us  blaming someone else for all the problems we  face?

MOVING BEYOND THE ‘TYRANNY OF CERTITUDE’

Acknowledging that we do not have the answers and that there are no quick fix solutions.
Recognizing and respecting that the Earth is a far more multifacted, mysterious and adaptable Living Being than we could ever imagine and so are we…..

‘Real change will only happen when we fall in love with our planet. Only love can show us how to live in harmony with nature and with each other and save us from the devastating effects of environmental destruction and climate change’.
Thich Nhat Hanh
